Dear Katie:
It was so wonderful to meet you in California. Jim always reminded us that you were his twin as Aysha was Amira's.
Your kindness, love and noble nature in the face of disability uplifted everyone's spirit.
May God grant you comfort in paradise.
Dear Dean, Heather and Thomas (quoting T.S. Eliott):
"Well! and what if she should die some afternoon,
Afternoon grey and smoky, evening yellow and rose;
Should die and leave me sitting pen in hand
With the smoke coming down above the housetops;
Doubtful, for a while
Not knowing what to feel or if I understand
Or whether wise or foolish, tardy or too soon..."
May God bless all who love Katie with patience, forbearance and then, joy at having been part of her life.
Love,
Champsi Family

Katie embraced me like a sister and adored her nieces Aysha and Amira. She never forgot to call or send Mother's Day, birthday, Christmas gifts and anniversary wishes even when she was not well. We will miss her love, generosity and warmth very much.
With all our love,
Farah

Thinking of Katie Keene, the first word that pops into my mind is adorable. And she was adored. I knew Katie in high school. She was bright, loyal, always friendly, always smiling and cheerful. There was a warmth about her that drew you in and made you want to be around her. Over the years I would see her at reunions, and later, on Facebook where I could see she was still a lovely lady with positive energy and a grateful heart. To those who were lucky enough to have been loved by her; especially her husband, children, and brothers, may the sparkle of her life live on in you and bring you peace and comfort. I am so sorry and saddened by this great loss. With love, Nancy.

Katie will always be remembered by me as one of the kindest and sweetest girls from our school days. She never was mean to anyone. She treated the nerds the same way she treated the popular kids. Also Katie was so beautiful. She could take your breath away. We were friends until 1975. When we all went our separate ways. Years later she popped up on Facebook and I learned she was sick. My heart was broken as I am sure the family's were too. But she left a mark on many and she is at peace now. Katie was pure inspiration. What a gift to have known her. And Jimmy too.

We knew each other before we were out of the womb - one of the things that makes our relationship special and unique. Your essence is one of kindness, generosity of spirit and compassion. I always felt like our bond was so strong, and that you were incredibly forgiving. Dad's song to you was "You are the sunshine of my life, That's why I'll always be around; You are the apple of my eye, Forever you'll stay in my heart." Awesome. We will miss you greatly. Farah, Amira, Aysha and I will never forget you.
