Mrs. Roth and the entire Roth Family,
I just learned the news of Sandy's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss and know my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this season. It has been a very long time since I lived next door to your wonderful family. I could not help but read with great admiration the long list of accomplishments, recognition and acts of service Sandy achieved and was known for. In an era where civic responsibility and duty seem to be diminished, Sandy stood tall as a beacon for others to see what our responsibility is and what our response should be. And I was reminded that this is the man who would always encourage my brothers and I, when we asked to play basketball in your driveway. Who always had a smile and a kind word. That is the man I remember from many years ago and his life was consistently aligned to doing good.
May you all be filled with peace during this season.
With deepest condolences,
Bob Kiersznowski

Carole and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Sandy's passing. He and I go back to our pre-teen years, when we were living out in the Delaware Avenue area of Albany, west of Madison Avenue. I remember many fun times with Sandy, Robby Robertson (who lived on Madison Avenue), Gordon Putnam (Jefferson Street), and I (Dove Street, near Lincoln Park). These were our 5th and 6th grade school years, if my memory is still any good. I went on to Hackett, and I believe Sandy did, too, but I don't remember us seeing much of each other, until we got to AHS; so I may be wrong there. I completely lost touch with the other two.
At our last re-union, Sandy and I talked briefly about those early years. It was fun to think that far back (and we were surprised we could).
While our lives took us on different paths, and we lost touch during and after high school, I will always remember Sandy's friendship and great outlook on life. His accomplishments certainly show that he carried on the traits I admired about him from those early years. I wish you all the best, and I hope the many years Sandy was in your lives have resulted in many happy memories for you.
Best wishes always,
Pres

Carol, our most sincere condolences. We go back many years to our early teenage days. After seeing so many accomplishments by Sandy, it's not a surprise. He was always a go getter, but never jumped into anything. Always gave it careful thought and that was the catalyst for his successes.
We live in Florida but often look at old pictures and reminisce about the old days.
You have a wonderful family from what I read, and it's great that they can surround you at this difficult time.
Again, our most sincere thoughts
Bob and Fern

Sandy was a class act. He was a leader, mentor, advocate, and all around great person. He will be sorely missed. However, there are a lot of fond memories that will forever keep him in our hearts and minds.
