Obituary of Tonja J. Hatz

Tonja Jean Hatz, 57, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 23, 2019.

 

Tonja was born at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She graduated from Lansingburgh High School and attended SUNY Oswego. After being together for over 30 years, she finally married her life partner, JoAnne Fisher, on May 14, 2016.  She was a loyal manager for Boscov’s for the past 18 years where she was loved by her coworkers and employees.

 

Tonja was a kindhearted, loyal and gentle person who always made the people in her life feel special. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and was an avid gardener and cook. She had many extensive collections, but her love of Coca Cola topped them all.   

Tonja is survived by her wife, JoAnne Fisher: Her brothers and sisters, Robert Hatz (Azza), JoAnne Rootes (Ron), John Nazarian (Sharon) and Harry Cohn (Meredith): Her parents, Marion and John Harris. Her nieces and nephews, John, David, Ryan, Mackenzie, Bethany, Rebecca, Ian and Jonni.    

 

A celebration of her life will be held at Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY on Wednesday, November 27 from

5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
