Obituary of Wesley W. Dennison, Jr.
Wesley W. "Wes" Dennison, Jr., 65, of Madison Ave, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, May 14, 2018.
Born in Troy, he was the beloved son of the late Wesley W. and Ethel English Dennison, Sr. and was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1971. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Marksman Badge Rifle M16 and the Sharpshooter Badge Hand Grenade Medals.
Wes retired in 2003 from the U.S. Navy in Cherry Point, NC where he was a Machine Operator and had previously been employed by the U.S. Army at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY.
Wes was a member of the Watervliet VFW Post 729 and the Wynantskill American Legion Post 1489.
Brother of Earlene (late George Kilduff) Dennison of Stillwater, Betty (George) Finelli of Watervliet, Burt Lescynski and the late Anina Strope (late Albert Strope and late Richard Watson), also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy, NY 12180. Reflections and memories will be able to be shared beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will be held with military honors in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
