Obituary of Alma Lasky
Alma R. Lasky, 60, of Clum Road in Johnsonville, passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany surrounded by her adoring family.
She was born in Troy, NY on Jan. 23, 1958 and was the beloved daughter of Margaret Hurd Bell of Speigletown, NY and the late Alfred Bell. She attended Lansingburgh High School. She was the much loved wife of Martin J. Lasky, whom she married on April 30, 1988. She worked for Verizon (formerly NYNEX, Bell Atlantic) for more than 20 years where she participated with Telephone Pioneers and local IBEW. Earlier she worked for the Charles Freihofer Baking Co., and King Fuels. She was an active communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh, where she participated in Sacred Heart Sodality. She enjoyed traveling, and capturing photos and home videos. But most of all, her greatest times were spent with her children and family.
Survivors in addition to her mother and husband include her devoted children Meagan Lasky (Eric White) of Clifton Park and Bryan John Lasky of Johnsonville; sisters Mary Ann Rebel of Troy, Debrah (John) Grant of Speigletown, and Jane (Chris) Danbury of Grafton; brothers Phillip Bell of Malta and Michael (Melissa) Bell of Stillwater. She is preceded in death by her siblings Susan and Allan Bell, in addition to her father. Alma is also survived by more than a dozen nieces and nephews and their children, and many beloved cousins.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of 115th Street & 4th Avenue in Lansingburgh, thence to St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where at 11:00 am the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be private.
