Joseph J. "Joe" "Poppi" Bielawa, 60, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Born and educated in Nassau, New York, he was the son of the late Eugene and Irene Taran Bielawa.

Joe had been employed as Produce Supervisor at Pesha's at the Menands Market in Menands.

Poppi loved his grandchildren immensely, enjoyed riding his bike, having a cold one and was known to love to put on his annual fireworks shows. He would often be heard saying that, "this is my Christmas".

Devoted father of Crystal Maple (Shawn), Jacob Bielawa (Latonia Smith) and Joseph Brady, who are survived by their mother Theresa Brady, cherished "Poppi" and grandfather of Shareik Williams, Shawn Maple, Jr., Jayvein Maple and Shalynn Boyko, brother of Barbara, Tony, Stanley, Eugene, Mike and Eddie Bielawa, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
