George Raymond Goldey, 76, of Lansingburgh, entered into eternal life of on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late George and Marie  Moore Goldey and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and HVCC. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

George recently retired from a over 40 year career as a Draftsman for Ryan Biggs Associates in Troy and formerly with Cadman & Droste, also in Troy.

He was an accomplished Award Winning Ballroom Dancer at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, a WW II history buff, loved antiques and model trains.

Survivors include his nephew and godson Robert P. (Marlo) Goldey, Jr. of Brunswick, sister-in-law Susan Dandurand Goldey of Lansingburgh and his great nieces Gianna, Bella and Ava Goldey. He was predeceased by his brother Robert P. Goldey, Sr. and sister Patricia Wegielewski.

Private funeral arrangements with burial with military honors in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands were entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue in Lansingburgh.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eleanor's School of Dance, 1875 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12205 or to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, in memory of George R. Goldey.
