Obituary of Helen C. Barnhart

Helen C. Hayes Barnhart 81, of Lansingburgh, the beloved wife of the late Donald J. “Don” Barnhart, peacefully entered into eternal life in the comfort of her home on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

 

Born in Green Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late William Vincent Hayes and Edna Mae Montgomery Hayes.

 

Mrs. Barnhart had been a Cashier at Wal-Mart in Latham for many years.

 

Helen most enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her late husband, Don, enjoyed vacationing with friends to Aruba every year.

Her hobbies and interests included playing cards with the girls, playing slots, doing word games and watching HGTV and Hallmark. She was best known for her unconditional love and support

 

Helen was of the Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

 

Helen is the cherished grandmother of Cody (Elliot) Carlo, Quinn (Eden) Carlo, Brennan Carlo and Noah (Krystina) Carlo, adored great grandmother of Marley Carlo and Elena Carlo, mother of Jennifer Lynne (Vinny Nigro) Barnhart-Nigro and the late Jason (Barb) Barnhart; sister of William Vincent Hayes, Jr., dear friend of Gail (Jim) Kralick and Joe Hansbury, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

In keeping with Helen’s wishes, private funeral arrangements were entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home (Corner of 115th Fourth Ave and 115th Street, Lansingburgh), Troy, New York 12182

 

Special thanks are offered to Joe Hansbury and to Gail and Jim Kralick for their loving care, support, love and time which they provided to Helen.

 

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the St. Augustine’s Church Preservation Fund, 25-115th Street, Troy, NY 12182, in memory of Helen C. Barnhart.
