Obituary of Thomas W. Deratzian

Thomas W. Deratzian, 77, of Clifton Park, beloved husband of the late Rosemary Sacco Deratzian and dedicated family man, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

Born in Troy, NY, Tom was the son of the late Voskin and Josephine Wrobel Deratzian and was a graduate of Watervliet High School. 

Following high school, Tom was compelled to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Tom took great pride in his service.

Tom had an entrepreneurial spirit and explored several occupations over the years, ending his career as a Sales Associate at New Country Toyota in Clifton Park.  He had a lifelong love of cars and helping people. He became a trusted partner to all his customers, many of whom became friends.  

Devoted father of Jessica Deratzian (Jared Bunten) and Eric Deratzian (Danielle Barrieau), adored brother by his family, brother-in-law to Jack Endryck, cherished grandfather to Maya and Mylo Chavira and friend to Francine Puccio. He is also survived by several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Tom was never happier than when he was surrounded by family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service on November 11, 2024, which will begin 3 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., all within the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

The Deratzian family would like to express their sincere appreciation to St. Peter’s Hospital and all Tom’s friends and family whom he loved very much.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom’s name to either Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc., or your local animal shelter.
