Very sad to hear about your mom's passing. I remember your mother fondly, in my childhood,
helping out with 4-H, crafts, baking, bringing me to VBS at Loudonville, and who could forget,
Ruth, your Birthday Parties?
Sending peace and prayers to you all,
Judy Rieker and Family

Our hearts are full as we rejoice with you over a life well-lived! Joan was an encouragement to us and our family in so many ways.
Joan and Debby were in the same ladies' missionary circle at LCC. Debby appreciates how Joan was always such a comforting presence with a sympathetic ear.
Bob and Debby remember how Joan was an enthusiastic cheerleader for us when we adopted our son, David.
David had the incredible blessing of being in the Sunday School class Joan taught with Ruth Bredbenner. (As a teen, David also benefited from Karl's instruction on interior electrical wiring.)
Joan loved you, her family, passionately!
Be sure to follow her pathway to heaven through Jesus Christ, for He is "THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE!" (John 14:6)
May He comfort you deeply at this time.
In His love, Debby and Bob Giordano

Joan was a model for me of a godly wife and mother and servant in the church community. Belonging to the Hannah Ladies' Circle with her showed me how to do hospitality in the church. Working with her for the young children's Sunday School was a blessing and joy. She faithfully made crafts for the three and four year old children to do each Sunday - taking inspiration from the lesson topic and creating something that would support the topic, be engaging for the children and help them to grow in their knowledge of Jesus. She and Ruth Bredbenner were a godly team and taught each of our three children in their formative years.
Thank you, her family, for sharing your beautiful memories of a beautiful woman. Love, Jim and Sandy de Waal Malefyt

Joan was a highly gifted follower of Jesus who loved God and the people around her. She and Karl were servant-leaders who gave much of their lives helping to build the kingdom of God and loved doing it. Both are greatly missed along with Earl and Elsie.

Joan visited us in California several times when Steven was in the military. We got to know the Sieck family over 50 years ago when we were members of LCC. Still have wonderful memories of those times. Joan stayed in touch with us until recently. We will miss her cherry voice and engaging personality. She loved the Lord and that was obvious.

Our friendship began 59 years ago when Bob and I first attended LCC. Joan and I taught Sunday School in the Beginner Dept. to the 4 and 5 yr. old age group as well as VBS. She beautifully sewed dresses for the girls and served many folks with her gift of hospitality .
On one occasion we had fondue and the pan tipped over and started a fire on the kitchen floor. After the fire was extinguished rather than being upset about the situation, Joan joked and said that she had hoped she would get a new floor out of the mishap, but only the wax had burned leaving the floor unharmed.
Lots of good memories. I am richer for having known Joan. I will greatly miss her.

I have wonderful memories of Joan joining us at the monthly prayer meetings for Ruth. Her passion and love for Jesus was evident even via Zoom. She has joined the great cloud of witnesses cheering her family and others on! She will be missed

When we first moved to Albany area, Joan was one of the first people to invite me over for lunch. She served eggs Benedict on china plates. Everything was SO FANCY. I always felt that she truly loved me, and I loved her back. So very sad to hear of her passing. I have so many memories with Joan, which I cherish. Happy for her now, but sad for all of us and her family who will miss her so deeply.
