Mom has a deep relationship with God the father, Son and Holy Spirt
All individually yet ONE then and now
She gave her personal testimony over the years how she asked God to take her by the hand and bring her out of the pit of alcoholism. Which he did!
When it was her time, I did the same and asked God to take her by the hand and bring her home to be with him. I watched this in the physical sense
She took his hand. Closing her hand as to hold another
I read several passages from the bible
I then placed her hands on her open bible
Contacted all her children so they could have their last moments together with her.
Once she had heard from all of us, she passed
In her daily life
She devoted time each morning to speak to and reflect on her personal relationship with God. Before doing anything else for the day
She then devoted her time to her Husband, Her Mom, and her Children
Doing the Best that she knew how to do
My relationship with Mom
My mom means so much to me. Not just mom but a friend we spoke every day
Her favorite topics were Religion, family, news events of the day, politics and the list does go on.
After being on the phone for a half hour or more she would say I did all the talking, NOW you talk.
I had such an enjoyable time growing up, my mom genuinely loved each one of us
She always said she loved us as the individuals that we are
She took our pain and triumphs as her own
These are my memories in no order
Mom cutting up potatoes
Hunting for the perfect chair
Mom holding me while running her fingertips though my hair
Sitting on my hospital bed telling me what was happening to me
My crying because she was not there to visit then remembered it was Sunday and she would be there!
Bussels of apples piled up in the kitchen
Story town, Frontier town, Catskill game farm, American Freedom Train to mention a few
Fighting for me weather it was doctors or teachers
Taking me to all my appointments, and lunches
Taking me shopping being separated and trying to find her head amongst the racks
Telling me to look at all sides of an issue before coming to any conclusion
April FOOLS was an any day occurrence---- we all loved a good practical joke but there was a rule had to fess up before the end of the day
Believer, Compassionate, Stubborn, Independant, Humble, Determined, Strong Resourceful, Silly, Kind, Sincere, Trustworthy, Advocate She is my mom, my munchkin, short stuff, best friend and now my little angel

To Eleanor's family... Our sincere sympathy to you all.
Eleanor was our neighbor in Cohoes for 30 years. She was always so friendly and willing to help anyone with whatever you needed help with. I always admired her strong faith. Even when things got tough or her health took a turn, she would always have a positive attitude & said she would pray on it.
Eleanor was truly a very special person!
She will be missed!
May she rest in peace.
Our prayers to you during this sad time.
Love,
Barb & Jim Sherman

My condolences to you as a family with the passing of your mother. I met your mom approximately 10 years ago in our New Beginnings group of widows. I loved her transparency and testimony of her faith in our Lord and Savior . She was very special indeed. Now she is safe in the arms of Jesus.

The last memory I have of Eleanor is at our last Senior
Luncheon at Loudonville Community Church in May.
She was given an opportunity to share her thoughts
with us. Her message was very inspiring and I will
always remember her admonishment to read the Bible. She will be missed. May God comfort her family
at this time.
With sincere sympathy,
Phyllis Wheeler

I am sad for the loss of dear Eleanor, a wonderful, Godly lady who is much loved, even as I rejoice to know that she is Home with her Lord whom she dearly loves. I will miss her ready smile and abundant faith in Jesus. Her presence changed those around her. Patient faith and trust characterized her life. She is "absent from the body and present with the Lord."
You, her family, are in my prayers, dear ones. I am looking forward to the Reunion that never ends!
