Obituary of Thomas E. Landry

Thomas E. Landry, 56, of Latham, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, as the result of an accident while working in Berne, NY. He was born on Jan. 2, 1968 in Niskayuna and was the son of the late Bernard A. and Velma Allain Landry. He was a 1986 graduate of Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake High School.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Cheryl Sullivan Landry of Latham, and their loving daughter, Heidi Nicole Landry, of Bath, NY. He is also survived by his siblings, Peter (Rene) Landry, Francis (Nancy) Landry, Elizabeth Landry, Donna (Eric) Rutland, Christine (Richard) Phelps and Paula (Gregory) Jackson. He is the son-in-law of Jane Sullivan and the late J. Edward Sullivan and the brother-in law of David J. Sullivan. Tom was predeceased by his brothers Bruce Landry, Steven Landry and Richard Landry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his canine companions Dallas and Ranger.
He was employed for 25 years by Spectrum and Time Warner Cable as a maintenance technician. Tom enjoyed hunting and was awarded a plaque for getting the largest buck in 2006 in the state of Maine. He also enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and vacationing in the Adirondacks. He was a sports enthusiast. The family traveled to Dallas, TX to see the Dallas Cowboys play. For the past few years, the family would travel to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. While there, they would take their dogs to the 4x4 beach. He was a member of the Sportsman Club of Clifton Park. He was a very loving, caring person and was always willing to help everyone. It was a joy to know him. He enjoyed carpentry work and built a beautiful deck for his mother-in-law, in addition to doing an array of repairs at her home. He was “The Handyman”.
Tom will be sadly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2:30 pm at Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Rd. Ballston Lake, NY 12019.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday in the church from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, prior to the mass.
