Obituary of Edward H. Goyette

Edward H. ”Ed” Goyette, 71, of South Troy, beloved husband for 52 years of Kimberly A. “Kim” Grimmick Goyette, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his living family, in the comfort of his home on Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Born in Rome, New York, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Elizabeth Pugh Goyette and was educated in the Troy Public Schools.

Ed retired as Maintenance Supervisor from Vanderheyden in Wynantskill and was previously employed at the former Portec in South Troy.

His greatest enjoyment was seeing and spending time with his grandchildren. Ed also enjoyed Judo competitions with his daughter, Heather, fishing and target practicing with his son, Eddie, and long rides to Rome to visit with his family.

Beloved husband of Kim; devoted father of Heather (Edward) Holliday and Edward (Jessica Johnson) Goyette; brother of Addie Louise Brown, the late Suzanne Goyette and the late Karen Dowd, cherished grandfather of Edward Holliday, III, Aiden Holliday and  Avery Goyette, son-in-law of the late Bernard and Vera Grimmick; brother-in-law of the Stephanie (late, William) Cox and Bernard (Tina) Grimmick, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home that same day from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
