Obituary of Janet M. Taylor

Janet M. Taylor, 76, of Cohoes, beloved wife of the late Michael Taylor, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born and educated in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Jean St. Onge Sim, Sr.

Janet was employed as a Bartender at Valente’s Restaurant in Watervliet for many years and developed many friendships with those who dined there.

She loved playing cards and going to the casino. She was passionate about St. Jude’s and donated to them every month.

Beloved mother of Tracy (Ethan) Surprenant, Robert Vicario and the late Justin Ransome, loving sister of James Sim, Jr. and the late Barbara Hart and the late Mary Olsiewski, cherished grandmother of Kayla Flores (Jesse), Jordan Ransome, Skylyr Ransome, Noah Ransome, Zachary Ransome and Mason Herbert, adored great grandmother of Alivia, Amaya, Aliza and Benjamin, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is being planned to be held in the Spring by Janet’s family.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home,

1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. There are no public services.

Janet’s family is grateful to all of their family and friends for their love and support.
