Donna L. "Dona" Potter, 72, of Schenectady, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

 

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Dorothy V.  Farrell Potter.

 

Donna was employed by the City of Schenectady for 17 years and retired in January 2021.

 

She loved to needlepoint, crochet and reading.

 

Mother of George E. (Ann M.) Provost, Jr. and Sanya C. (Richard) Lam, sister of Kathleen Potter, Lawrence (spouse, Rebecca)Potter, Terrence (spouse, Theresa) Potter, Gerald Potter, Geraldine (spouse Mark) Sheldon, Victoria Potter, Darlene Gentry, Kevin (spouse, Cathy) Potter, Nicholas (spouse, Kelli) Potter, Ann Potter, Amy Potter and the late Nancy P. Smith, Laurie Parker and Timothy D. Potter, grandmother of Anthony P. Provost, Richard D. Lam, George E. Provost, III and Matthew C. Provost, also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Donna’s name to the American Heart Association would be most appreciated.
