Obituary of Robert Patrick Dewey
On October 2, 2023, Robert Patrick Dewey, 54, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Claire and daughter Alexandra by his side.
Rob was born on March 9, 1969, the sixth of eight children, to John and Eleanor Dewey in Schenectady, NY. Rob earned a degree in civil engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and went on to work as a civil engineer for AECOM for nearly 25 years.
Rob had a passion for nature and spending time outdoors hunting and kayaking. He was a history buff who loved watching war documentaries and he enjoyed playing guitar and listening to music, especially with family during the holidays or around a bonfire. Rob was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and some of his favorite trips were to Ireland with his beloved wife and daughter, the lights of his life.
Rob had a smile that would light up any room, a laugh that was infectious and a deep love for his family and friends.
Rob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Claire (McEnteggart) Dewey, his beautiful daughter, Alexandra Dewey (Mary), his loving mother, Eleanor Dewey, and his two step-sons Sean Dewey (Lindsay) and Brendan Dewey (Melissa).
Rob was the best Pops to his six grandchildren, Lillian, Reese, James, Quinn, Destiny and Ian.
He is also survived by his brothers Sean (Kim), Brian and Kevin (Jessica), his sisters Noreen and Tara, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Rob was predeceased by his father John Dewey and his two brothers Brendan Dewey and George Dewey.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt-9 in Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023 10:30 am in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham.
Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
