Obituary of Brendan P. Dewey

Brendan Paul Dewey, 53, of Naples, passed away early Sunday morning, April 9, 2017. He was born in Albany on July 15, 1963. Brendan was a charismatic, fun loving gentleman with the biggest heart and friends with all. He worked most of his career self-employed within the drywall industry. In Florida, many friends knew him from tending bar at Zookie's Sports Pub & Grill. Brendan had a passion for Irish music, the outdoors and horse racing. He loved singing, fishing off the Gulf Coast, visiting the Everglades and traveling up to New York in the summer. Brendan is the son of John and Eleanor Dewey. He was survived by his sons, Sean and his wife, Lindsay of Ballston Spa, and Brendan and his wife, Jessica of Waterford; his grandchildren, Lillian, Reese, Quinn, and Ian; his mother Eleanor of Naples; his brothers, Sean of Grand Gorge, N.Y., Brian and his wife, Rita of West Sand Lake, George and his wife, Dawn of Simpsonville, S.C., Robert and his wife, Claire of Clifton Park, and Kevin and his wife, Jessica of New York; and his sisters, Noreen of Clifton Park and Tara of Clifton Park. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, April 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 in Clifton Park. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford. Interment with military honors will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
