I just wanted to send my condolences to Darja and Pete and your families for the loss of your Dad, Mr. Drenchko. I always appreciated how good and kind he was to me. It was so good to feel liked by and supported by such a brilliant, funny, and unique person, especially in high school, when we're all so filled with doubt about so many things. He made a difference in my life, and I was very lucky to have met him.

Dear Drenchko family,
On behalf of myself and my dad, Dick Bader, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy on the loss of your dad. My dad is now in assisted living due to Alzheimers, but I know how much he loved your dad and loved coaching baseball with him at NS. ( Their winning streak record still stands today!!) Because of their coaching connection, I was also fortunate to know your dad for many years. He loved to tease me whenever I saw him-- and I so enjoyed his humor! He was a great guy and will be missed dearly, I'm sure.that somewhere in my dad's memories, your dad holds a very special place.
Take care.
WIth sincere sympathy,
Ruth Bader Beasley

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Drenchko. I offer my deepest condolences to his children and family.
I recall Mr. Drenchko from my student days at North Syracuse High School, in his physics class, as a coach on the basketball court and as an advisor to our class (‘63). In all he was fair, firm and delivered his guidance a unique subdued humor.
We always looked forward to his attendance at our class reunions.
A great teacher; his impact has been lifelong.

Q: What was Joseph really good at?
A: My all time favorite teacher at NSCHS (class of 1958). He inspired in me a love for science which I still have today. He dedicated his life to teaching which helped so many others. RIP Mr. Drecncko, you deserve it.
