Obituary of Robert H. Brown
Robert H. Brown, 79, of Rensselaer, beloved husband of the late Theresa Mercier Brown, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening December 19, 2022.
Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late John J. and Catherine Robinson Brown and was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Rensselaer.
Having a strong work ethic, Bob retired after 38 dedicated years from Amtrak in Rensselaer where he was a Conductor. In retirement, he kept working doing siding with his best friend Dickie Webber.
He loved watching and betting football, OTB betting on the horses, the coffee club at Stewarts and most of all spending time and supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Devoted father of Robert (Roseann) Brown, Jeffrey (late, Wendy) Brown and Renee Brown, cherished grandfather “Poppy” of Jennifer (Joseph) Charland, James Brown, Tara (Cody) Haack, Tiffany Brown, Robert Brown, Jonathan Brown, Tori Brown and Isaac Brown, brother of the late James Brown, the late Mike Brown, late Dorothy Brown and the late Johnny Brown, also survived by 10 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
