Lois Pearl Winner, 97, formerly of Clifton Park, NY, Troy, NY and Spring Hill, FL, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, November 20, 2022, surrounded by her adoring family. Born in 1925, Lois lived a remarkable life. She began life as an only child on an isolated farm in Central Illinois, living a pioneer lifestyle (without electricity for the first ten years of her life). Lois graduated from Bement Township High School, Bement IL, in 1943 and Barry Castle School of Business Training, Champaign, IL in 1944. She met her beloved husband, of 63 years, Grant, in a classic WWII love story and her life began a new chapter. She welcomed becoming a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, traveler and Adirondack camp owner. Lois was known to all for her kindness, gratitude, love and faith. She was everyone’s friend, mom and gramma. She influenced many with her gentle ways. Her favorite past times included cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, bowling, golfing, fishing and winters in Myrtle Beach, SC with Grant. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Grant, in 2009.

 

Lois is the mother of Ronald Winner (Kathy Jo) of South Plainfield NJ, Judith (Jerry) Tuori of Hudson, FL, Douglas Winner of Ballston Lake, NY, and Gregory Winner (Susan Lane) of Narragansett, RI; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Special thanks to the staff at The Beechwood, Troy, NY, The Residence at Timber Pines, Spring Hill, FL and Brooksville Rehabilitation Center in Brooksville, FL.

 

The funeral will be held Monday morning December 19th, at 10:30 a.m. from the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 Rt. 146 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY following the funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to The Northeastern Association of the Blind: NABA, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
