Obituary of Eshna Sarkar
The world became brighter on November 18th, 2013, the day Eshna Sarkar was born in Garia, West Bengal, India. Eshna passed away at the age of eight on October 28th, 2022 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her parents, Tamojoyti Sarkar and Rinki Ghosh Sarkar, after a battle with DIPG.
Eshna loved reading, drawing/ coloring, swimming, and playing piano, and she always brought a smile to everyone’s face. Eshna loved her paternal grandmother. Whom she called “Mum Mum” and her puppy Kismis; Pink was her favorite color, and she liked to paint her nails.
She was very independent, punctual, and never asked for anything.
During her illness at Albany Medical Center, any time her doctors or medical staff asked, Eshna, how are you today? She replies, “ I am fine.”
Parents are grateful to Albany Medical Center, the Hematology team, Dr. Lauren Weintraub, the Pediatric Palliative care team, Dr. Joanne Porter, Dr. Kate Neubaure, Eve Gannon (Sw), Nazish Naseem ( Chaplain), D7 staff and nurses. Debbie Ross, Ronald McDonald House, and Kelly Sanvidge of Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, for all the care provided to Eshna and became our second family here in the States.
Eshna will be missed and will remain in our hearts.
