Obituary of Vera Engelmann

Vera Engelmann, 84, of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully in the loving comfort of her home and her family. Born and educated in Dessau, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Emma Haase Vaatz and the beloved wife of Herbert J. Engelmann who passed away on June 15, 2013. Mrs. Engelmann retired from Troy Savings Bank in Colonie. She loved flowers, music and in particular playing the piano. Devoted mother of Michael (Debra) Engelmann of Lakeville, MN, Herbert (Elizabeth) Engelmann of N. Babylon, LI, NY and Peter Engelmann of Clifton Park, also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as relatives in Germany. She was predeceased by a brother Herbert Vaatz and a sister Tamara Starr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home 1550 RT- 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 where a service will also be offered at 12 Noon Tuesday. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110, in memory of Vera Engelmann. Vera's family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Community Hospice of Saratoga, in particular to Pat and Jamie for the loving care which was provided to their mother and themselves.
