Obituary of Thomas D. Cushman

Thomas Douglas Cushman, 67, of Speigletown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Kenneth J. and Madaline L. Baker Cushman, Sr., and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Hudson Valley Community College.

Following high school, Tom worked at General Electric in Waterford. During his 16 years of service, he acted as Chief Shop Steward for IUE local 359 then became President. Tom was recruited by IUE International to service and represent all IUE local Unions related to General Electric on the GE Aerospace Conference board.  Afterwards, he moved into his own private business in 1999 as President of Universal Analysis Systems based in Troy. He consulted with many large and small corporations in the U.S. and abroad. 

Tom loved to travel for business and pleasure. He enjoyed socializing and entertaining. When not traveling or conducting business, he enjoyed his family, home projects, gardens, landscaping, and entertaining at his home. Locally, he was church treasurer for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church located in Lansingburgh.

Devoted father of Matthew (Carol) Cushman, Amy (Styles) Bridges and Gregory (Katie) Cushman, cherished grandfather of Michaelangelo and Sophia Fusco, Hunter and Anna Bridges, Ella and Emma Cushman and Elliott and Noah Cushman. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth J. Cushman, JR.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 followed by burial in Memory’s Garden in Colonie.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
