Dennis M. “Denny” Sluus, 66, of Watervliet, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Dennis was born, educated, raised and lived much of his life in Troy.

Denny’s passion was paving. He was a lifelong blacktopper, employed by J.S. Asphalt.

He enjoyed boating and to party with his Heineken and a joint.

Dennis is survived by his lifelong spouse and caregiver, Denise “Deedee” Dunson, his loving children, Michael Sluus (Patricia Drescher), David Sluus and Jessica Sluus (Lou Lemoine), brother of Robbie Sluus (Cindy), Karen Williams, Carol DiMaggio, Donna Garner, Barbara LeClaire (Richard) and the late Roger Sluus, cherished grandchildren, Kala (Ryan), Robert, Alexis, Brody, Alex and Jax, adored great grandchildren, Brielle, Liliana, Dierks and Hunter, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families and many friends. Denny was predeceased by his mother; Mary A. Lewis Sluus.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.

Interment will be held in St. Jean’s Cemetery, Spring Avenue Ext., Troy, NY 12182 at a date and time to be announced.
