DEACON CHRISTOPHER J. KEOUGH

 

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must share of the passing of our beloved husband and father, Deacon Christopher J. Keough, 66, of Speigletown, who entered into eternal life on Friday, February 11, 2022.

 

Born in Bennington, Vermont, he was the son of the late Donald and Janet Cross Keough and was a graduate of Arlington Memorial High School and St. Michael’s College in Burlington, VT where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Management.

Deacon Chris was Ordained on June 25, 2005 for the Diocese of Burlington,VT, where he served prior to his joining the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Here, he has served as Parish Life Director at Transfiguration Parish (formerly St. Bonaventure’s Church) in Speigletown and in Schaghticoke (formerly St. John the Baptist Church, later to become Church of the Holy Trinity).

 

Deacon Chris loved reading, spending time with his friends and family, vacationing at Hampton Beach, NH, York, ME and Lake Placid, NY and was an avid sports fan. He taught Parish Life Director classes in Burlington, Pre-Cana and Religious Education classes. Deacon Chris was a member of the St. John Vianney Parish Knights of Columbus Council 7525 in South Burlington. Most of all, Deacon Chris loved being dedicated to his ministry.

 

Beloved husband for over 43 years of Patricia Hawley Keough, devoted father of Craig (Leigh-Anne) Keough, brother of Michael (Sonya) Keough and late twin Craig Francis Keough, loving nephew of Vivian Cross, also survived by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins as well as to many members of the Clergy and parish communities.

 

The Reception of Deacon Chris will take place on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Transfiguration Parish, 50 Hillview Dr., Troy, New York 12182. A prayer vigil will be offered at 3:30 p.m.

 

Calling hours will be held in Church on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

 

The Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Chris will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Church followed by a reception in the Church Hall.

 

The interment with Rite of Committal will be offered at St. Columban’s Cemetery in Arlington, VT on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

 

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Transfiguration Parish, 50 Hillview Dr., Troy, NY 12182, in memory of Deacon Christopher J. Keough.
