Obituary of Edward Warren Gress

Edward Warren Gress, 86, of Lansingburgh went home to be with the Lord on Friday February 4, 2022.  He is a son of the late Joseph Gress, Sr. and Helen O’Brien Gress.  In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by two brothers; John and Joseph Gress, Jr; one sister; Katherine H. Rall.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory longtime companion, Edythe Manwiller; two daughters, Lisa Pitt and Christine Gress; two grandchildren; Christopher Pitt and David Mamone; along with several nieces and nephews. 

Ed enjoyed playing the piano.  He also liked to attend Drum and Bugle corps. Performances.  He took pleasure in dining at his favorite restaurant, Verdile’s in Troy.  He was employed by New York State Department of Tax and Finance.  He was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

Calling hours will be from 1-4 pm Wednesday in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of 115^th. Street & 4^th  Avenue in Lansingburgh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on FRIDAY at 11:00 am Feb. 11, 2022 at St. Augustine’s Church, 25-115^th. Street Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Troy, NY.
