Obituary of Kentish Bennett
Kentish Bennett, 41, also known as Kayla Stennett, born in Hamilton Mountain, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies; son of Clement and Blanche Bennett. Kentish was raised in Brooklyn, New York and was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School. In 2004 he relocated to Albany, New York, worked in Customer Service at Tractor Supply Co. in Guilderland, Joann Fabrics, Tidy Tots Sewing, Lowes, and Home Depot while pursuing his music career. Kentish was multi-talented, he enjoyed dancing, designing, and sewing, and performing as either KSwiff or his drag persona Kayla.
He was a member of the LGBTQ+ community in Albany, he was active in the community, he did charity work, and performed to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness, Homeless Shelters, and Project Hope.
In addition to his parents, Kentish is survived by his two children Arissa Bennett and Averie Bennett, Sisters Deanne Bennett, Finola Tucker, Navine Beckford, ShellyAnn Simmonds and Ann Beckford-Crosby, 2 Brothers Rizland Bennett, Anthony Bennett, and 24 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182 and to his Celebration of Life which will be held that day in the funeral home at Noon. The will be a Livestream in the funeral home beinging at 10:25 a.m. which you are invited to join by the link below;
