John S. Cranfield, 68, of Riverview Road died on Friday Nov. 26, 2021 at Ellis Hospital.  He was born in Cohoes, NY on Feb. 15, 1953 and was the son of Betty Jean Lewis Cranfield of Rexford and the late John P. Cranfield.  John was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, class of 1971.  He had worked for Mohawk Paper Mill in Cohoes for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and was a very talented cook.  Most important to John was spending time with his family.  He had been a member of Community Reformed Church of Colonie and was a member of their choir, years ago.

 

He is the father of Michele (David) Braungard of Scotia; brother of Debbie (the late Joe) Jerome, Jim Cranfield and David (Vonda) Cranfield; grandfather of Zoe Ohye, Elijah Pfitz, Violet and Gabriel Braungard; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral will be held on Friday at 11:30 am in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. Clifton Park, NY 12065

Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Vischer Ferry Cemetery, Vischer Ferry, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
