Jo Ann Dickman, 86, of Clifton Park, N.Y., passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family.

 

Jo Ann was born on May 29, 1935 and grew up in Carlisle, Ohio. She was the daughter of E. Stewart and Marjorie Brannaman.  After she graduated from Carlisle High School, she went on to become an R.N. from University of Cincinnati where she met and married Fred B. Dickman on August 3, 1957.  Together they had three beloved children.  They enjoyed spending weekends boating on Lake Champlain or Lake George.  She was also an avid lover of books.

 

In May 1976 Jo Ann and Fred opened the Country Store in the Clifton Park Center Mall and together they ran it for 20 years.  Additionally, they were proprietors of The Balcony on Van Antwerp Rd in Niskayuna, NY.

 

Jo Ann is predeceased by her parents, and her husband Fred and brother Richard Brannaman. She is survived by her sister Dorothy (“Dottie”) Parker, children, Mark Dickman and his wife Diane, Melissa Ehler and Anita McGill.  Her grandchildren, Lynne Dunn and her husband Matt, Christopher Ehler and his wife Gina, Julia Mazariegos and her husband Christian, Tabitha McGill and her fiance Matt Alverson and Madison McGill and three great granddaughters and many, nieces, and nephews.

 

Calling hours will be held Thursday November 4th, from 4:00-6:00pm at Gordon C. Emerick  Funeral home 1550 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. . A private burial will be held the following morning at the Jonesville Cemetery.
