Obituary of Lucille M. Sicko

Lucille M. Sicko, 84, of the Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and formerly of  Halfmoon  died on Wednesday Sept. 8, 2021 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.  She was born on Jan. 12, 1937 in Northside Waterford and was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Ida Mae Dozois Lajeunesse.  Lucille was a graduate of the former Keveny Memorial High School in Cohoes, class of 1955.  She retired 1985 after more than 30 years working for the New York Telephone Co. in Menands as a clerk.  Following this she had worked for Equifax, Key Corp and Fleet Bank.  She worked also a para mutual clerk at the Saratoga track for 4 years.  She enjoyed casino's, cross word and jig saw puzzles, cooking and her cats.  Lucille also had worked with CAPCOM and was an active member of Shenendehowa United Methodist Church in Clifton Park for 61 years.   People would remember Lucille  for her generosity, willingness to help all and her great sense of humor.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mike Sicko, whom she married on April 16, 1960.  She is the devoted sister of Jane (the late Edward) Sullivan of Ballston Lake, NY,  Paul (the late Sara) Lajeunesse of Sumter, SC and the late William Lajeunesse.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 1-3 pm Friday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.  A funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Friday in the funeral home.

Special thanks to the ICU staff at the Albany Medical Center Hospital for the care given to Lucille.

Interment will be  in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday.
