Obituary of Dorothea Ann Roberts
Dorothea Ann “Dot” Walthers Roberts, 73, of Halfmoon, entered into eternal life after a tragic fire at her home in Halfmoon on Christmas morning December, 25, 2020.
Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosemary Pakush Walthers and the beloved wife of the late Walter Francis Roberts who passed on May 23, 2006.
Dot loved gardening, all animals, cooking, baking and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a devout Catholic.
Devoted mother of Evelyn Rose Spiak of Halfmoon, cherished grandmother, “Nanny” to Brendan Spiak and Leandra Spiak (husband, Ryan Franceschi) all of Halfmoon and Christopher Spiak of Clermont, FL, cherished great grandmother and “Nanny” to Makenna and Hayden Franceschi, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and to her Funeral Service beginning at Noon both in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 Clifton Park, New York 12065.
Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
Facial covering, 6 ft. social distancing and capacity limitations must be adhered to.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 or to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302, both ASPCA sheltersin memory of Dorothea Ann “Dot” Roberts or to a GoFundMe account established to asset the family during this tragic time and the loss of not only their mother and grandmother but their home and possessions. If you insist on sending flowers, please only send something small and purple as that was Dorothea’s favorite color. Flowers are restricted at the cemetery too.
