While serving as Shenendehowa’s superintendent, I was fortunate to Gary on our board of education. He was an outstanding board member who used reason, intelligence, passion and a spirit of optimism in execution of his role as guardian of the district. He won the respect and admiration of fellow board members, district staff and the Shen community. Gary was a role model for integrity, thoughtfulness and community service. Our sympathy goes out to family and friends.

Gary was a teammate at Linton, a colleague at Mechanicville and fellow coach on the Mechanicville football staff. We were friends first. I have fond memories of the times we had when we were still "kids". Most memorable was a trip to Ticonderoga to see the fort. Another was a trip to The Rose Garden- not for flowers -an Inn on Galway Lake. At football staff meetings he was always on task- and kept the rest of us focused. Gary was a good friend and an able, focused colleague.

Such a beautiful write up for our beloved Gary. I remember Gary's planning and expertise with the construction of the Shenendehowa Helping Hands Food Pantry. Up on ladders, driving in nails, supervision of the volunteers to build this needed addition for the pantry. Gary has left his workmanship and ministry for the Lord throughout his life. A true blessing to many. Deepest condolences to Carol, the children and relatives. Thank you for sharing him with us. Love Pat, Les, Melody and family

Carol, I didn’t know your husband...but I know you and how much you loved him. They say not to ‘choose’ your child’s teachers even if you can. Oh well. I chose you for Zachary and you made a HUGE difference in his life. I am so sorry for your loss. I am down in Florida now but in the spring Phil Pekar will be planting a rhododendron from myself, Zach, Diane Cameron and Luke in your husband’s honor in the charlton heights courtyard.
My thoughts and love are with you at this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear that my "Goose Hill" friend Gary DiLallo has passed away. I have known Gary since around 1947, starting at Franklin Elementary, Oneida Jr. High , and Linton High School. I had played football with Gary at Linton HS and Gary was on the 1960 Linton HS Reunion committee. During all these years he was the "same guy" . "A kind hearted, do everything, kind, sweet, Gentleman" We are all going to miss you Gary, you brought much joy in the many lives around you and the world has had been a better place because of all that you have done.. My thoughts and prayers go out to Carol , his sons, and their Families. God Bless
