Obituary of David H. Frodey

David H. “Dave” Frodey, 92, formerly of Clifton Park, beloved husband of Katherine E. “Kathy” Frodey of Saratoga Springs, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 15, 2020.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was s the son of the late Charles and Carolyn (Mering) Frodey and was a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology “MIT” in Cambridge, MA where he earned his Chemical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree and at Carnegie-Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh where he earned his Master’s Degree.
An engineer, Dave began his career at Union Carbide and in 1973 left his great success in the corporate world to start his own business with Kathy that continues as a family operation today as Clifton Park Rental Center in Jonesville, NY
Dave enjoyed and was devoted to his family and building the rental business with Kathy. They were well matched with his Engineering approach and Kathy being a master Marketeer. Dave had an adventurous streak that was most evident when he started the family skiing in later life after 2 back surgeries… he also was the elder in his scuba diving certification class he took so he could dive on tropical vacations he and Kathy went on with friends. Golf was his first passion to play and watch, he was President of a Golf League for a number of years and known for his smile and big hats.
Dave was the Beloved husband for 68 years of Katherine E. “Kathy” Frodey of Saratoga Springs, devoted father of Stephen (Margaret) Frodey and Michael (Kathleen) Frodey both of Clifton Park and the late Ann E. Frodey (Michael McInerny), brother of the late Ray Charles Frodey, and also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, New York 12065 on Tuesday October 20th from 4 to 7p.m. Family will gather to attend his committal at Jonesville Cemetery on Saturday October 24 day at 12:00 noon.
In leu of flowers please make donations to American Cancer Society
All attendees are required to wear facial coverings, adhere to social distancing and understand that there are capacity limitations.
David’s family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Saratoga Hospital, Hospice, Amanda Frodey, and Kim Greene for their care and comfort support during his last days.
