Obituary of Dennis J. Recore, Sr.

Dennis J. Recore, Sr., 60, of Troy, husband of Shawn Elizabeth Tarof Recore, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Malone, NY, he was the son of Hollis and Josephine Tulley Recore and was educated at Troy High School. Dennis received an Honorable Discharge for his service in the United States Marine Corps. He had been employed by the New York State Office of General Services in Albany where he could be found preserving the granite on many of the Empire State Plaza buildings from many different heights. Dennis was an avid camper and fisherman. He was also a Bingo enthusiast, loved riding his motorcycle and playing Santa Claus for the Town of Halfmoon and at several local venues. All will also remember Dennis as a man who could really eat his pumpkin pie. He had previously been a member of the American Legion Mohawk Post #1450 in Halfmoon and of the Clifton Park Elks BPOE #2466. Husband of Shawn Elizabeth, father of Dennis J. “DJ” (Julie) Recore, Jr., Jeremiah (Tonjua) Recore, Brittney (Joseph) Recore-Padin, Elliott (Brittney) Recore and Joshua Recore, brother of Carl P. Recore and the late Daniel (wife Kathy) Recore, and the late Rose Recore, grandfather of Haylie, Isabelle “Izzie”, Dennis J. “DJ” Recore, III, Ava and Melanie and Paxton, Logan and Chloe, Jasmine and Gabe, Layne and eagerly anticipating the birth of Baby Padin this November, also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In keeping with present guidelines due to the pandemic, private family funeral services have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
