Obituary of Lucinda B. Kelley
Lucinda (Cindy) B. Kelley, 75, of Clifton Park NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17.
Cindy was born October 27, 1950 in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of Albert Baker and Faith (Tingley). The family later relocated to Milford, CT where she spent her childhood.
She attended Keene State College where she met her husband of 56 years, Dale, eventually settling in Clifton Park to raise their family.
Music was her happy place and brought her great joy. She was a gifted piano player and singer. Cindy was a member of the Thursday Musical Club for over 40 years and also a member of Saratoga Voices. She was a lifelong Church choir member and loved conducting when needed.
She loved the ocean, traveling, and spending time outdoors- skiing (teaching her children and grandchildren to ski), gardening, and the peacefulness of snorkeling in the ocean.
She was passionate about staying in shape and exercising. She proudly fit into her wedding dress on her 50th wedding anniversary, wearing it to the family celebration. After large holiday meals, she would rally the whole family for a “forced march” around the neighborhood.
Cindy was a bus driver for the Shenendehowa School district for over 20 years. She loved the kids and continued to enjoy Friday lunches with her fellow bus driver friends. Active in many community organizations, she was a founder of the Southern Saratoga YMCA in Clifton Park, and volunteered for Captain Family Services, and Shelters of Saratoga.
A long time member of the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, she devoted much of her time giving back. She volunteered for the Church Fair, Alter Flowers, Senior Choir and any others duties that were asked of her.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Sharon (Eric Baker) Kelley, Matthew (Michele) Kelley; best Mimi to grandchildren, Carly Nadler, Bryce and Grace Kelley. Also survived by brothers, Jeff Baker, Doug (Mary) Baker, and Andrew (Michelle) Baker and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 11:00am at Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 Rt. 146, Clifton Park, NY. Reception immediately following in Fellowship Hall.
