Obituary of Sam Napoli

Please share a memory of Sam to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sam Napoli, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 7, 1948, Sam was a proud lifelong resident of the Troy Community. He was a devoted husband, father—known lovingly as “Daddy” - grandfather, and great-grandfather. A friend to many, Sam was always quick with a smile and even quicker to lend a helping hand.

Sam proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that spirit of service with him throughout his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Augustine's Church, where his faith and presence were constants.

Though never one for convention and never one to sit still, Sam lived life with energy and enthusiasm, finding joy in its simplest pleasures. He loved country music, old-time car shows, and especially getting behind the wheel of his beloved Corvette. When he wasn’t out enjoying the open road, you could count on finding him on the sidelines or in the stands, cheering on his grandchildren at their many sporting events—always their biggest fan.

Above all, Sam’s greatest love was his family. He loved fiercely, showed up always, and made it clear through his actions that family came first.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Sam’s family invites you to join them on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, Lansingburgh for the Mass of Christian Burial which will be followed by burial with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterford.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Sam’s life through a donation to the Food Pantry at St. Augustine’s Parish, supporting those in need within the community he loved.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc.
