Obituary of Mikayo T. Tubolino

Please share a memory of Mikayo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mikayo T. “Sandy” Tubolino, 61, of Malta, beloved wife of 37 years to Louis M. Tubolino, crossed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, Sandy was the daughter of Kenneth Wood and the late Fuji Tanaka Dunavin. She earned her Associate’s Degree from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York.

Sandy also dedicated over 20 years of her professional life to Campbell’s Soup Company and later served as a Territory Sales Manager for Wonderful Sales Co.

Above all else, Sandy loved and was deeply devoted to her family. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and took pride in making every occasion meaningful and memorable. Whether it was a holiday, a family gathering, or an everyday meal, Sandy poured her heart into every detail — from the food she prepared to the atmosphere she created — ensuring everyone felt welcomed, loved, and celebrated. Her time, effort, and care made even the simplest moments feel special.

Sandy had a deep love for life. She enjoyed yoga, hiking, traveling, fostering long-term relationships and shopping for that perfect gift and had a special way of bringing people together. Her creativity, warmth, and hospitality shone through in every gathering she hosted. Known for making every celebration extra special, Sandy was vibrant, generous, and full of life, leaving lasting memories with all who were fortunate enough to share her table and her time.

Beloved wife to Lou; devoted mother of Bianca Ashwin and Nicholas Tubolino; sister of Jimmy Dunavin, Billy Dunavin, Susan Pinder, Amber Jackson, Kim Wimbs, and the late David Dunavin; cherished grandmother of Bentley and Hazel and her father, Ken Wood. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Sandy’s family at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. and for her Funeral Service that evening in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
