Obituary of James M. Tucker, Sr.

James M. Tucker, Sr., 61, of Troy, also known as “Tuck”, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Tucker and the late Claudia Mason Tucker and was a graduate of Troy High School.

James was an Electrician working out of IBEW Local 236.  He had also worked on several projects throughout his life as an Electrician for local businesses within his community.

He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, singing, dancing, good food, riding his bike, playing softball, spending time with his family and was a practical joker. James had also been a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy.

Devoted father of James M. Tucker, Jr., Lexus M. Pompey and Nyesha L. Pompey, loving brother of Sheila (Elwood “Butch”) Wooden, Karen (John) Pompey, Marvin (Barbara Lozo) Tucker and Sheronda (Daniel) Lippitt, cherished grandfather to Landon, Caleb, Josiah, Esme-Ella and Oliver Tucker, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 for Visitation on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. and to the Home Going Service which will be offered there beginning at 1:00 p.m.
