Obituary of Erick Edwards DeCamp
Erick Edwards DeCamp, 52, of Albany, passed away as a result of injuries sustained from a home fire on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Erick was born and educated in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Anne Dewey DeCamp and Frederick Edwards.
Erick had been employed for many years at LAZ Parking in Albany, where he was involved in the civic and recreational life of Albany, and was well known to its many users for his cheerfulness and reliability.
He enjoyed watching sports, and cheering for his boyhood hometown Mets and adopted Patriots, but was equally proud of his new hometown’s college teams. He was casually interested in astronomy, meteorology, and dabbled in investing in the New York State Lottery, perhaps overvaluing his occasional successes and discounting his more common disappointments. Fatherhood offered him a chance to relive his own childhood, growing up surrounded by a loving and engaged grandfather, uncles and an aunt, who remained his life-long supporter and friend. He loved nothing more than spending time and playing with his own three children, and his stepchildren.
Beloved nephew of Joan C. DeCamp, devoted father of the late, Annie Rose DeCamp, LeRoy Bruce DeCamp and Joanie Anne DeCamp who passed away with Erick and are survived by their mother Nancy M. Bussing DeCamp Peterson and her stepchildren Culia Peterson, Ethan Peterson and Logan Peterson who sadly lost their father Eric W. Peterson in the same tragedy.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. for Calling Hours where at 4:00 p.m. a Funeral Service will be celebrated.
