Obituary of Timothy M. Tufts

Timothy M. Tufts, born August 11, 1966, of Troy, NY, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Donna Walker (Tufts) and Wayne Tufts and the man he called, “Pappa Joe”, Joseph Walker. 

Timmy worked for L&L Blacktop for 25 years and went on to become a truck driver for a total of 20 years working for Troy Top Soil and RJ Valente. He was likely your delivery driver if you ordered pizza from Jimmy's Pizzeria in Lansingburgh, where he worked for many years. He also did snow plowing in the Winter for many businesses around the area. 

Timmy was a family man and the loving father of 5 children. His favorite place to be in the Summer was taking the family to Grafton Lake and to Frear Park and every year they took a trip to the Ocean for their birthday. Timmy loved being a trucker and he had all of the radio stations on speed-dial, where he won many free concert tickets. 

Beloved fiancée of 15 years to Erica Schanz, loving father to Justin, Tomah (Ray), Gavin, Chase, Courtney and the late Timothy, Jr., dear brother of Kenny (Linda), Justine (Bill), Patty, and Donny (Heather), all from the local area. Timmy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182 on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Interment will be held on Friday, September 5^th at 10:00 a.m. at Timmy's final resting place in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Those attending are asked to meet between 9:40 a.m. and 9:55 a.m. in the main roadway inside the cemetery in front of the Crematorium Chapel just inside the Oakwood Avenue entrance.
