Obituary of Carole J. Walsh

Carole Joan (Bratton) Walsh, 85, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. Born on September 21, 1939 in Troy, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Ruth and Glenn Bratton and sister of Janet Bratton Banazewski.

Carole married the love of her life, Leo Walsh, on July 11, 1964. Together they shared 61 years of devotion, raising their family in Brunswick, NY. She was a cherished mother to Lisa Walsh, Bryan Walsh (Susan), and Mark Walsh (Julie); a loving grandmother to Victoria Keech Averill (Ryan), Kaitlyn Walsh, Cassie Walsh Baldwin (Shane), Megan Walsh Bacon (Taylor), and Bryan Walsh Jr.; and a proud great-grandmother to Avery Bacon. She is also survived by her nephews and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Russell Sage College, Carole earned her degree in Accounting and worked at Leonard Hospital and Sears. Beyond her professional career, she was a gifted crafter whose talents included sewing, quilting, knitting, needlepoint, and beading. She also had a lifelong love for cats.

Carole found joy in many simple pleasures: spending time at her parents’ camp on Lake Lauderdale as a child, relaxing at the beach, and surrounding herself with her children and grandchildren, who were the heart of her life. She was admired for her love of fashion and her signature stylish bob, a reflection of her graceful and timeless spirit.

Carole will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faithfulness, and cherished memories.

A private graveside service for Carole will be held on Friday at Noon at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 1513 County Road 59, Cambridge, NY 12816.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the White-Sanvidge Funeral Home, 58 Leversee Rd. (RT-40 in Speigletown) Troy, NY 12182.
