Obituary of Nathan B. McCormick
Dateline: Los Angeles, California
Nathan B. McCormick, age 30, suddenly passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Los Angeles, California where he’s resided for the last 5 years. Nathan was born on October 27, 1994 to Deborah McCormick, Waterford, NY and Daniel (Denise) McCormick, Charleston, SC. Nathan graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 2012, and then went on to graduate from Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont in 2016.
In addition to his parents, Nathan is survived by his brother, Christopher (Jamie) McCormick; sisters-in-law, Samantha McCormick and Meghan McCormick. Nathan loved all of his nieces and nephews including: Jordy, Charley, Maximilian, Blake, Jasper, Amelia, Elinore, and Atlas. He also leaves behind his grandfather, Robert Snyder, Sr., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nathan is predeceased by brother, Jonathan McCormick, paternal grandparents, Daniel and Julia McCormick, maternal grandmother, Helen Snyder, his Uncle Mike McCormick, and cousin, Jerrid McCormick.
While in high school Nathan belonged to the National Honor Society, he was captain of the baseball team, and was also involved in many other activities with Lansingburgh High School. Nathan also played baseball for Castleton University.
Nathan continued to have close relationships with his childhood friends, Joshua Scott, Drew Laughlin, Mitchell Dehler, and Neil Sedlak. Nathan also had a California family that he created that was very important to him and had recently started to explore a new relationship with Amanda Castillo, who also was taken suddenly at the same time.
The love of his life was baseball, which he started as a toddler, and continued playing up until his passing, on multiple teams. Additionally, he loved any activity outdoors, including hiking, rock climbing, fishing, kayaking, snowboarding, skating and traveling. Nathan was able to explore many countries along with many states learning new cultures, ethnic foods and experiences that he was so excited to share.
Nathan was many things to many people – a best friend, a brother, a son, someone to lean on, but most importantly, Nathan had a special bond with his mother, Deborah that went beyond Mother and Son. They were best friends, each other's rock, who spoke daily. Both took many travel adventures and spent many special moments both in CA and when he was home visiting.
