Obituary of Angeline M. Collins

Angeline M. Collins, 98, of Second Avenue, Lansingburgh, beloved wife of the late Robert J. Collins, entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

 

Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Marro Manzerra. She was educated at St. Joseph's School in South Troy and Catholic Central High School in Lansingburgh.

 

Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and had been a dressmaker at Tiny Town Togs Clothing in Troy. She had also worked seasonally for the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance.

 

Mrs. Collins was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh, loved to fish and was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and enjoyed the many years of being a caregiver to her children's friends and eventually her grandchildren at the family home which many knew as Collins State Park. Angeline was loved, she always was happy, positive and brought joy to all.

 

Devoted mother of Patricia (Harold) Crispell of Worcester, NY, Michelle (Bruce) Taylor of Pottstown, PA, Judith Collins of Waterford, Kathleen (William) Hubbell of Halfmoon, Mary (Kevin) DuBois of Ballston Lake, Robert J. (Marjorie) Collins of Johnsonville, Joseph M. Collins and Louis M. Collins, both of Lansingburgh, James E. (Tammy) Collins of Waterford and the late Joan Zehner, sister of the late Louis Manzerra, US Navy who was killed in action in World War II, the late Frank (late, Phyllis) Manzerra and the late Sister Mary Jane Manzerra, R.S.M., sister-in-law of the late Diane Bisner of Lansingburgh, also survived by 20 cherished grandchildren, 21 adored great grandchildren, 5 loving nieces and the many friends of her children which she also was a "Ma" too.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church, 25-115th Street in Lansingburgh and to her Calling Hours on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

 

Interment will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
