



Obituary of William V. Koza, Jr.
WILLIAM "BILL" V. KOZA, JR.
It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our dear loved one; William "Bill" V. Koza, Jr., 81, of Ballston Lake on Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness of heart failure.
Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late William V. and Madeline Ragule Koza, Sr. and was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School and Hudson Valley Community College where he earned his Associates Degree.
Bill retired after 47 years from a dedicated career as a Manufacturer’s Representative. His most recent employment was with R.L. Stone in Albany and had also been self-employed in the HVAC industry.
Bill married the love of his life Ann Marie Choppa on November 14, 1964 and together they raised 3 beautiful daughters who brought them great joy. Bill was an avid boater, hunter, skier and absolutely loved Lake George. Bill was very service oriented and civically involved. He served as a member of ASHRA from 1969-2005 where he was the committee Chairperson for membership and raising funds for research, was a member of St. James Church of Albany Knights of Columbus, served as the Colonial Greens Homeowner’s Association Treasurer, was a member of the Lake George Harris Bay Yacht Club since 1987, having served on their Board of Directors for the past 14 years and was HBYC F-Dock Director. Bill’s love for his family was unwavering and they will forever cherish his love, support and guidance.
He is the beloved husband for 60 years to Ann Marie Choppa Koza, devoted father of Tracey (Douglas) Eberle, Kris (Chris Polito) Hearst and Marci (Christopher) DeMura, cherished grandfather and “Poppi” to DJ (Nicole) Eberle, Jim (Angelina) Eberle, Carson Hearst, Ava Hearst, Sophia DeMura, Miranda DeMura and Lauren DeMura, adored great grandfather and “Great Poppi” of Grant, Eliza and Brian Eberle, dear brother of Paul (Ellen) Koza, Stephen (Mary Ellen) Koza and the late Regina Koza, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 and to his funeral Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Interment following his Mass will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
The Koza family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the Albany Medical Center Hospital, Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the CCU and to the Acute Rehabilitation Department, for their outstanding care provided to Bill and his family.
