Obituary of Mary Anne Teta
Mary Anne Patrick Teta, 85, of Cohoes and formerly of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 5, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. and Anna Mae Burniche Patrick, Sr. and was a graduate of St. Augustine’s Academy in Lansingburgh and Catholic Central High School “CCHS”.
Mary Anne was predeceased in 2010 by her beloved husband Anthony E. “Chick” Teta, just days shy of their 50th anniversary.
Mrs. Teta retired in 2016 from Sodexo at RPI in Troy, where she had been employed for 22 years. She loved her work and her co-workers over those years.
Mary Anne was an avid golfer, loved gardening, was an amazing cook and baker, loved to crochet and make assorted items for her grandchildren, enjoyed doing word puzzles, made sure to capture videos on the Beta-Max video camera, but above all else she took immense pride in her family and her home.
Those who knew Mary Anne, knew her to be a fashionista, dressed to the 9’s from head to toe with impeccable make-up. Her favorite hobby was shopping and in particular searching out a bargain. Outings at her home on Plank Rd. which everyone knew to be the gathering place were the norm; whether it was for a family picnic, a theme or holiday party or just a party in general always included their family, extended family as well as her and Chick’s circle of couple friends and their families. She especially treasured the times that she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Devoted mother of Anna Marie (Tim) Viramontes, Angela (Rick) Roden, Anthony Michael (Geri-Lynn Cross-Teta) Teta, Aimee (Larry) Bornt and Alison (David T.) Dean, cherished grandmother of Matthew Anthony (Sabrina) Teta, Ricky Roden, Caitlyn Roden, Tate Richard Freidline, Nicholas Anthony Teta, Olivia Ann Teta, Caileigh Dean and Olivia Dean, adored great grandmother of Tayen Kamala Teta and Murphy Elizabeth Teta, dear sister of Christina Ford, the late, Robert (Joan) Patrick, the late Walter R. “Wally” (Judy) Patrick and the late Kathleen (late, Ed) Seabury, best friend of Diana Madio, Paula VanZant , Jenny Masher and Gail Bruno and the late Mary Durocher, also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and to her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh.
