I worked with Ron at the USGS in the 80s and 90s until his retirement. Ron ran the statewide groundwater observation well network and was instrumental in getting out the annual data report. He was a fountain of knowledge for us young hydrologists. Always a pleasure to talk to. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

I worked with Ron at USGS in the 1980s until his retirement. Always enjoyed talking with him - a straight shooter and a good guy - I remember his smile.

I worked with Ron at the USGS in the 1980s and 90s. I remember well his sense of humor and that he did not suffer fools, which kept us on our toes. My condolences to his family and close friends.

I am married to Ron’s nephew Tom, living out of state. And although we only saw Ron annually after Christmas each year, I cannot ever remember him without a smile on his face ~ or laughing. He saw everything in a positive light, and made any topic of conversation enjoyable. And he so deeply loved and enjoyed his family around him. I wish we could have spent more time with both him and Susan. But it is good to have known that he was always happy spending time with his multi-dimensional family, no matter what they were doing. His wife Susan and their three children ~ and then their grandchildren ~ brought him endless joy. A bright light may have left earth, but his smile and his sparkle will live on in all who knew him. No doubt he will continue to light up the heavens too !

Dear Sue:
No words can fill the emptiness in your heart right now, or sooth away your pain -- I know this. You and Ron had a wonderful, full life. You were blessed to know this type of love since in high school.....many many years. The long goodbye is over. He is now at peace. I'm here if you need me or just want to talk.
With much love and friendship, Peg
