Albert R. “Bob” Garz, 77, of Heidi’s Path, died on Friday April 14, 2017 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Bob was born in New York City on August 4, 1939. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Class of 1958. He was a Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served honorably from 1963 – 1969. Bob retired from Union College where he had been a mechanic for over 25 years. Earlier, he worked on Maserati’s, Jaguar’s, Porsche and Fiat automobiles. Bob was known for his foreign mechanical expertise. He worked for Langan Motors for a number of years.
He is the beloved husband of Rita C. Shaw Garz; devoted father of Steven E. (Lisa) Morgan of Ballston Lake, NY and Peter P. (Renee’) Morgan of Glenmont, NY; cherished grandfather of Stephanie Morgan, Elizabeth Morgan and Hailey Morgan.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 950 New Loudon Rd. #330, Latham, NY 12110.
