Molly DeCaprio, 97, of The Eddy on Burdett Avenue, formerly of Florida Avenue in Amsterdam, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Molly was born on July 1, 1919 in Amsterdam, New York and was the daughter of the late Sisto and Maria Fontanella DeCaprio. She was educated at the Barclay School and Wilbur H. Lynch High School, both in Amsterdam and the Red Cross Nursing School at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.

Molly retired from her dedicated forty year career at the New York Telephone Co. in both Amsterdam and Albany and was previously employed at Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. in Amsterdam. She had also been a  dedicated caregiver to many of her family, relatives as well to others in her community.

She had been a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam.

Molly was the sister of the late Alphonse DiCaprio, Joseph DiCaprio,
Rev. John DeCaprio, Louise Moreno, Anne DeCaprio, Mary DeCaprio and Frances Vaiuso.

Cherished Aunt Molly of Nicholas S. Moreno of Albany and Mrs. John J. (Kathleen) Sanvidge, Jr. of Speigletown, adored great aunt Molly of Shannon K. Sanvidge, John Choi (Lauren) Sanvidge and Matthew Yoo (fiancé Desiree ) Sanvidge, loving great-great aunt Molly of Jonathan M. Carter, Dylan J. Sanvidge and  Ava Marie Sanvidge.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be con- celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam, NY 12010, by Father George P. Fleming, Father Lawrence  Decker and Molly's cousin, Father Pasquale Iannotti.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the White-Sanvidge Funeral Home, 58 Leversee Rd (RT-40 in Speigletown) Troy, NY 12182 on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Interment will be held in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Molly's family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and staff at The Eddy for their loving and compassionate care and assistance while Molly made The Eddy her home these past eleven years.
